And here is ALASKA

Posted by Picasa

Sherry on her Alaska Cruise. She went with her MIL and two SILs
And said it was wonderful.

Still waiting to see what happens to Hurricane Gustau, it should hit the coast tomorrow am. And the direction it is going it looks like it will go in around New Orleans again. If it turns any this way, we are screwed. Pasadena can flood in a small storm. And with this property below street level, we will for sure flood AGAIN.

Rusty's coloring is changing so quickly.

8/30/08, Hurricane is heading straight into Havana, Cuba. And here we sit, waiting to see where it is going. We are so ready to leave this part of the world. Why anyone would want to live in this area is beyond me. With the hurricanes, tornadoes, the heat, the humidity, the refinery odors, the low salaries, teh dust, the "other" odors we just want out of here.
Right now it is a wait and see where Hurricane Gustau is going, but if it is headed towards Galvestion, that means us, too. Then there is Hanna coming in right behind Gustau. We will have to evacuate.... mandatory evac. But if it hits New Orleans, I am so sorry. It is not three years since Katrina, they don't need another one. If it hits here, our facility is doomed. We will lose everything we own, as will others storing their items here. More to follow as I learn more.

This one is a Oranda named Baby
Posted by Picasa

I have set up my 55 gallon tank with goldfish this time. I gave away my tropicals last year when we were flooded out of our apt. I thought raising goldfish would be easier, but have since learned that even though they are hearty, you have to really work at keeping them healthy.

The red one is a Red Ryukin (fancy or veil tail), the orange one is a Common (streamline) and below (lurking) is a Koi

Again, the Red Ryukin and the Common

You can barely see the (bronze) Oranda, but Ihave two of them, they are also fancies.

My California trip in 2008

Brent met me at the airport from a uneventful flight. Could hardly wait to see Rusty for the first time. And what a treat. He is a very special little guy, ever so sweet, so soft and just adores everyone, especially his daddy. Rusty listens and tries so hard to understand just what his Daddy tells him and he is a quick learner.
We watched a lot of movies and Brent seems to have all the latest out. And we have the same likes in movies.
Sherry and Ashlynn came for a few days. Sherry was on the way to return Ashlynn back to her Mom and then go on a 8 day Alaskan Cruise with her MIL.
Ashlynn, Brent and I went to the movies to see Batman.
Brent and Sherry did all the cooking while I was there... hehe, I don't cook.
One night was spent his friends, Melissa and Jeff. We all went out for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.... very good. Will a have to get Garner to go there.
Brent and I, along with his realtor, looked at homes for two days. Gees, the prices, even though severly reduced, scare me. And he found out it is a bidding war, so his missed out on a used home and got a NEW condo. Better yet. And I am so glad for him.
And then I had to return home, but I really tried to sneak Rusty in my bag.....
Flight home was good. And there was my adorable husband waiting with my luggage. What a sweet heart.
And this weekend (Aug 10th) he is in Victoria and I am with our elderly kids, Bugsy and Joey. I did realize I have not the energy for a puppy again. Way to active for me and it would be unfair to the little guy.
Now I besst go see where the children are.......

Happy Rusty, playing with his toys

This is very close to auburn, CA. We took a ride there, so I could get my mountain fix

This is so devasatating... but I guess it happens ever few years. This is Lake Folsom. Where the pix was taken(at bottom of pix) was water. This lake feeds LA and with no rain and a little snow, the lake has almost dried up. Boating is out, sking is out. You cannot go faster than 5 miles an hour on lake, to dangerous. This pix is of the launching ramp. The water quite a ways away now.

Father and son.
