Sunday Night - June 29th, '08

Spent the day on the couch, sucking on cough drops. SORE throat to the max. and just feeling yukky in general.
Reading and KK knitting is going no where. A row or two a day, and maybe a chapter or two every other day. I need to get myself in gear and do something more.
We were to work on the INSIDE of apt today, but that did not happen, he had to work in office to much. TOMORROW we have to get some of this mess done. Pictures, curtains, a large mirror all need hanging, plus my peg boards for my looms. Some boxes that are still in kitchen.
More rain today... does it ever stop!!!!
Joey is feeling better today, he has slept for the better part of two days. And walking around a bit doubled up, may of had a tummy ache. Just don't know at his age. The Bug has been in a very yappy mood lately and is shadowing her daddy. Guess she is afraid he will go away again.
Hope to morrow I feel better. Now it is bed time......
Nite-Nite and @#%^&%* to who ever made me sick.

6/23/08 @ 7:00 am
As I sit here in the office looking out I see it is a sunny morning here in the Pasadena area. SE of Houston. My day off and I plan to do a little shopping, only for someting to wear to Corpus for the funeral. I am not able to do much in the way of walking, so I will only go to one place and pray they have something I can wear.

Garner said last night that his Mom's phone has rung constantly and others are bringing food. They are really well respected in their community. He said considering, she is holding up quiet well. It is called "shock"....... what a wonderful thing. Shock protects you for a while.

Well, as John Wayne said in the COWBOYS....."Suns' awasting"

Sunday, June 22, 2008

It is a sad today with the passing of my FIL, but it has been coming for 2 1/2 months and I just feel like being quiet. Not much interested in reading or crocheting.... I think the kids (Tzus) know it as they are being very good.
I have posted many pix today of odds and ends, a lot of older shots and afew newer ones. It has been almost 10 months since we moved out of our apt to a apt complex and I was only on dial up. They need to outlaw dial up. Now (with time) I will be adding more current info and pix. But today was just a down day. My DH went to Corpus today to be with his Mom and I watched the Yankee play ball. I am waiting for a call to tell me when I need to go. I am flying in for the day only. And I am worried if I can make it without too many problems.

2 hours later....
I got the call and I will be going on Wednesday. I fly out at 8:30 and return at 8:30. Long day Day!

These are cards I made WHEN I was playing with paper for about 5 years. These are all hand embroidered. I kind of miss doing them, but I just don't have the room or time to do it all.

This was a very cold day on the beach in Corpus Christi, it is what is known as the 4-wheel drive aera. Because of soft sand is is very easy to sink to your axles and not get out. The fish is a RED DRUM, caught by my husband. The water is the Gulf of Mexico. Good to eat, but we enjoy the little Whiting much better. Or better still Black Tip Shark.

Back in '69 to '71 we were stationed at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico and lived in this house. The base is no longer an AF base and the housing is now private homes for civilians. My daughter and her husband vacation there and on this trip they toured what they could of the old base. And she took pix of our ex-home. New residents have cut down all the nice trees and shrubs, plus there was a tall concrete flower bed that came up to the window. And those windows have been changed. It just looks so plain now. Now happy look to it. Plus we had 8 ft tall Hibiscus bushes all around the house that I had to keep trimmed per base rules. We were SAC adn had strict base rules. Once flowers came out it had to be cute....... aargh!!! 6/22/08

my Husband's Dad

My husband's dad passed away this am in Corpus Christi, Tx at the age of 87. He had broken his back in Jan of this year and needed surgery. He had the surgery and never recovered. His heart and his lungs just weren't strong enough and it took 2 1/2 months to take him. He is now out of pain and resting with our Lord in heaven and probably talking his head off.
Today is my DH's Mother's birthday and to have her husband of 62 years pass on this date on makees it worse. 6/22/08

Have you ever seen a cuter puppy! This is Rusty and he is the owner of my son. Not only is he adorable and he is sweet. A Shi Tzu in it's finest form. He had little rough start in life, but is now doing terrific under the care of his daddy, my son Brent. He was born in Dec of 2007.... so you figure his age for now. The pic are from 3 months to 6 months. He is a ham and it is hard to get straight on pix of him as he wants to watch the camera. I plan to meet him next month in Rocklin, CA and spoil him rotten. 6/22/08
